When finding the right home, you expect that you find one that could last a lifetime, a space that you can pass down to your children, being the ultimate family home. With all the homes in the market put up for sale or being developed, home designs should consider elements that focus on the future and your home’s adaptability to the future.

Here’s BelleMaison’s answer when building your home: Forward-Thinking.

Forward-Thinking simply means that the design of your home can easily adapt to the future. We think forward to anticipating any challenges that would affect the space you are to reside in daily.

BelleMaison builds homes that are sustainable with only the best quality material chosen, as well as efficient and affordable, fit to be a valuable asset to your family for generations.

Solid Foundation

A home needs to have a solid foundation for it to last a lifetime. This is where Forward-Thinking design begins. Our project starts with paying attention to grading and soil type being able to withstand climate conditions. Even with the best exterior furnishings, a home that has not paid attention to its foundation could settle awkwardly. It could lead to cracks and shifts in the interior and exterior of your home over the years.

Protection from the seasons

Detecting moisture and roof damage which usually appear after homes thaw in the springtime could mean breaking the bank in home improvement costs. Homeowners may have easily missed their home’s vulnerability when they did their home inspection way back in the day. Regret usually comes with a price, a hefty one with home construction costs.

The changing climate has put more pressure on home builders to develop better ways to reduce energy use and lower monthly expenses for homeowners. This has been BelleMaison’s aim in constructing the NotreMaison units. Home design and forward-thinking insulation suggest that builders will use a lot of exterior insulation to prevent further damage to the roof and walls after the winter. One way this is done is by using spring foam insulation. At the moment, spring foam insulation is the most energy-efficient solution for filling out all the nooks and crannies in the attic as it can expand up to 100 times its original size.

Homeowners make the smarter choice by learning that they can choose a home which has better insulation that not only reduces their monthly expenses but also improves their carbon footprint.

Framing and Roofing

With Forward-Thinking, framing and roofing come as an important factor as it provides the structural integrity of the walls correctly configured with other components such as plumbing and HVAC. We think long-term with choosing your flooring and framing material. Some materials may be cheaper, but their life span is much shorter. It is always best to choose framing and roofing material that will last for decades, this protects your home for many years to come.

Flooring

Ordinary hardwood floor has been found to not be resistant to humidity. Since ordinary wood can be damaged by spills, liquidity and humidity, wood floors are not the best choice in areas with high moisture and humidity, something that is very common in Canada. BelleMaison’s Forward-Thinkingunderstand the need to use composite hardwood floor which should be less costly than solid hardwood floors. You can hardly tell them apart once it’s installed. But ultimately, Composite Hardwood floor is more resistant to fluctuations in temperature and humidity than solid wood flooring.

Carpet

When it comes to carpets, Forward-Thinking recommends carpets with higher density, which is why BelleMaison homes only use Nylon and composite material with a higher density. Best practices of sought-after developers believe that the higher the carpet density numbers, the better your carpet will perform under pressure. Homebuyers who want to know if their home has good carpeting can check this by pressing their fingers on the carpet and try to reach the backing. It will be difficult to reach the backing of a very dense carpet.

Lighting

General lighting is important to a home because it improves the total mood of a space. When a space has a warm and bright ambiance as opposed to gloomy and unattractive spaces, it becomes an inviting space for friends and family to gather.  Ambiance, both positive and negative, lies largely in the hands of a space’s lighting. BelleMaison uses design light to illuminate your home in an effective, but still an energy-efficient way.

BelleMaison has developed your home with integrity, reliability, responsibility, forward design and aesthetics, traits that a home purchaser would seek in a home developer. These are the strengths of a BelleMaison home, one that you as a homeowner would be proud to own now and in the years to come.
